Victor Snieckus was born in Lithuania and spent his childhood in
Germany during World War II and migrated to the foothills of the Rocky
Mountains, Calgary, Alberta, soon thereafter.
Education: B.Sc., University of Alberta, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada (organic chemistry awakening by the inspirational teacher, Rube Sandin); Ph.D., University of Oregon, Eugene, Oregon, USA (firsts steps towards understanding of synthesis under the iconoclastic Virgil Boekelheide); NSERC Post Doctoral Fellow, NRC Laboratories, Ottawa, Canada (forever infected by to pursue research by the enthusiastic Ted Edwards).
