Victor Snieckus was born in Lithuania and spent his childhood in Germany during World War II and migrated to the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, Calgary, Alberta, soon thereafter.

Education: B.Sc., University of Alberta, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada (organic chemistry awakening by the inspirational teacher, Rube Sandin); Ph.D., University of Oregon, Eugene, Oregon, USA (firsts steps towards understanding of synthesis under the iconoclastic Virgil Boekelheide); NSERC Post Doctoral Fellow, NRC Laboratories, Ottawa, Canada (forever infected by to pursue research by the enthusiastic Ted Edwards).

Publications Over 265 publications, 64 reviews and two books.

Training Trained 90 graduate students (Ph.D and M.Sc.) and over 100 postdoctoral fellows.
