This short course will look to examine how to conduct a Genotoxic impurity risk assessment and how to manage the risk posed by any genotoxic impurities that might be present. This will include instruction as to how, firstly, to identify impurities for evaluation (what is and what is not in scope based on current regulatory guidelines). How to evaluate the genotoxic potential of the impurities concerned and finally, how to quantify the risk posed by any actual genotoxic impurities present. It will also look to examine control strategies from both a safety and quality perspective. This will be examined through a series of interactive practical exercises.
