A short article in The Chemical Engineer (Dec 2001, p30) describes ways of selecting between 15 different types of filter/centrifuge, depending on the characteristics of the feed material. The authors, S Tarleton and R Wiseman, who are at the Univ. of Loughborough, UK, have developed a computer programme to aid in the equipment selection process.
