A Chemoselective Reduction of Alkynes to E Alkenes
The group of Trost at Stanford has developed a new method of selective reduction of alkynes (Trost B M et al, J Am Chem Soc, 2002, 124, 7922). The process is a two-stage hydrometalation and subsequent proto-demetalation.
