The 5th edition of the best undergraduate and postgraduate teaching text on heterocyclic chemistry has recently been published, by Joule and Mills. The 5th edition has been considerably revised and expanded and contains several new chapters.  For example, Organometallic Heterocyclic Chemistry is now dealt with separately, and for industrial focus there are chapters on Heterocycles in Medicine, and in Biochemistry.  A chapter on Special Topics includes Fluorinated Heterocycles as well as Isotopically-Labelled Heterocycles.

Overall Heterocyclic Chemistry, 5th edition (Wiley, ISBN 1405133007) is excellent value for money at £39.95 for the paperback edition and should be on the bookshelf of all organic chemists.
