2-Pyridyl boronates - the story continues

Regular readers of Topical Tips may remember last year we highlighted a scalable 2-pyridyl boronate equivalent (an N-phenyldiethanolamine adduct) for use in Suzuki couplings. In a further development, a polystyrene-supported stable source of 2-pyridyl boronate has been reported.

The was applied in combinatorial chemistry, but one wonders whether it may find applications in process chemistry…..
